recent public art may turn heads because of movement. this allure of motion is present in both DRIFT’s bouncy, flower-like installation in the courtyard of palazzo strozzi in florence and vincent leroy’s rotating orbs that hover above the nakameguro canal in tokyo.

at times, it’s the public art’s significance and size that become pertinent, as with iván argote’s hyperrealistic pigeon above the high line in new york. it’s also resonant in nassia inglessis' pyramid sculpture, who we had a chance to interview about her installation at forever is now.
