dear designboom reader, screws, inflatables and a DIY mold aesthetic – craig green has certainly made waves with his surreal interpretation of the stan smith sneaker. intriguing and unconventional, his AW22 collection for adidas completely alters the iconic design, while only the characteristic three rows of perforations remain to visually link the shoe to the brand's original version. speaking of icons, you may recognize traces of familiar 'faces', including NIKE's AF1 and the birkenstock sandal, in peterson stoop's upcycling project. the amsterdam-based brand gives discarded shoes a second life by deconstructing and rebuilding them with natural materials such as cork and leather. thanks for reading! sofia lekka angelopoulou | senior editor |
