during this special edition of milan design week, THE DESIGN PRIZE – designboom’s annual design awards – celebrates the lifetime achievement award with an event open to the public on monday, september 6, from 5PM to 7PM.

the event will be held at the new sawaya & moroni showroom in via clerici 1, where we will hand out the golden madonnina to william sawaya and paolo moroni for their outstanding achievements and contribution to the international design scene over the last 40 years.

in celebration of culture and excellence on a global scale, designboom initiated THE DESIGN PRIZE in 2017, an annual award program with a star-studded gala ceremony that recognizes both the extraordinary achievements and little sparks of beauty and delight that have emerged over the past year. along sawaya & moroni, we have also announced tom sachs as winner in the category 'in the artistic realm' for 2021, and new york sunshine's john margaritis and dickies as winners in the category ‘distribution’.
