dear designboom reader, present in ancient and contemporary cultures alike, marble continues to captivate sculptors and architects, who are pushing the material into new territories. in the tuscan town of pietrasanta, artist fabio viale displayed a series of his tattooed marble sculptures during ‘truly’, a public exhibition conceived in dialogue with the town’s historic urban fabric. barcelona-based studio arquitectura-G has used a combination of real and imitation marble to transform a former stockholm bank into acne studios's newest retail space. last, nendo has created a secretive, solid marble façade for marsotto’s brera showroom in milan, complete with a soft recess that serves as an impromptu piece of street furniture. thanks for reading! sofia lekka angelopoulou | senior editor |
