dear designboom reader, from the jungled mountains of paraty to the tranquil coastal town of trancoso, recent residential schemes in brazil embrace the unparalleled landscape and varied architectural traditions of the country. in rifaina, the 'Q04L63 house' by mf+arquitetos is divided equally between shared and private space, built using natural materials, and complete with lush vegetation. on a wooded site in paraty, the 'monkey house' by atelier marko brajovic reflects the verticality of the forest in its form and employs design solutions already found in the natural world. last, studio MK27's 'sand house' in trancoso, bahia, nearly disappears within the tropical vegetation of its coastal plot. thanks for reading! sofia lekka angelopoulou | senior editor |
