The Sunday Round-Up | April 4, 2021


Happy Easter! What a week in travel, eh? I have three mailing lists: a daily travel tip, a bi-weekly newsletter and a travel deals newsletter that I only send out when I find really good deals. I don't normally send out the bi-weekly newsletter (Thursday and Sunday) more than twice in a week but Friday's news from the CDC called for it since it was arguably the most important and positive travel news in over a year. 

It's obvious that COVID-19 is not even close to being over as cases are going up and most of Europe is on lockdown. So is Ontario, Canada, where my wife is from. But the CDC's new travel guidance was very welcome news. I'm just hoping and praying that the U.S. fares better due to the aggressive vaccine roll-out; over 30% of Americans have received at least one dose.

Only time will tell but it looks like we'll still be wearing masks and social distancing for at least the rest of 2021. This week, I received my second dose of the Moderna vaccine. Here's my experience getting the shot at CVS and some tricks on how to get an appointment. Also, here's how I'm protecting my CDC vaccination card. Hint: I'm not laminating it.
