'D dominatesThe Saints defense showed why it was ranked among the league's stingiest units a year ago in practice on Wednesday, as the front line overwhelmed their counterparts on the offensive line. it was another tough day for the offense, Luke Johson reports. Making a moveVeteran interior offensive lineman Lucas Patrick has gone from a solid depth piece to a potential starting spot. He's been one of the biggest movers of camp, so far. A management planSpeaking of veteran interior offensive linemen, Erik McCoy is on a management plan this preseason as the Saints try to keep their older players fresh and injury-free, Matt Paras reports. Good news, bad newsIt was good news-bad news on the injury front on Wednesday. Receiver Chris Olave returned to practice one day after falling hard on his hip. That's the good news. The bad? Star linebacker Demario Davis left practice with a hamstring injury. Asking for moreTowering 6-5 receiver A.T. Perry showed flashes of big-time playmaking ability as a rookie last season. Now, Saints head coach Dennis Allen wants to see him become more consistent and take the next step in his second NFL season, Matthew Paras reports. Another 'Ring' honoreeIn non-camp news, Saints Hall of Famer Jahri Evans will be the next inductee into the club's Ring of Honor, the team announced. The multi-time Pro Bowler will be honored on Nov. 17. From Tuesday:• Chase Young continues to flash in practice as he works himself back into the flow after offseason neck surgery. The former No. 1 overall draft pick out of Ohio State is opening eyes with his playmaking ability off the edge, per Matthew Paras' practice observations on Tuesday. • Staff photographer Sophia Germer has another gallery of amazing photos from Tuesday's workout.
