Dec. 30 - Tariffs, Trump and more: Spotlighting the year in trade policy

U.S. trade policy was front and center for supply chains this year.

President-elect Donald Trump has threatened aggressive tariffs on China, Canada and Mexico once he enters office. Meanwhile, President Joe Biden finalized sweeping tariffs on several strategic product categories from China to bolster the U.S. renewable energy sector.

The de minimis exemption is another trade regulation hotbed as is the continued crackdown on the use of forced labor. Furthermore, the U.S. has worked to strengthen relationships with trading partners in Southeast Asia and South America.
