I bought this as my first toy and am very happy with it! The quality is great and I really like the feel of the material, which I'm usually pretty picky about. Also, I apparently hadn't read the specs all the way through so I was very pleasantly surprised by the number of speeds/patterns.
As a (AFAB) first time toy user I'd say it's perfect for someone inexperienced with toys, especially if you already know what feels good for you in general. I did stock up on lube beforehand, though, just in case, which has also proven to be very useful.
