Deadline Approaching to Sign Up for Yamaha R3 bLU cRU FIM European Cup

Amsterdam, the Netherlands (26 Feb 2020) - Young riders aspiring to reach the pinnacle of superbike racing will have the perfect opportunity to begin their journey this year in the inaugural Yamaha R3 bLU cRU FIM European Cup, with the registration deadline fast approaching. 


Those interested in joining this ground-breaking series, which supports European rounds of the FIM Superbike World Championship and is backed by Yamaha Motor Europe, FIM Europe and Dorna WSBK Organization (DWO) supported by JiR (Japan Italy Racing), have until Friday 6 March to register their interest. 


The Yamaha R3 bLU cRU FIM European Cup is open to riders aged 12-16, and welcomes anyone from complete newcomers to youngsters with several years’ experience. It offers a cost-effective option for Yamaha’s stars of the future at the entry level, with a season’s racing priced at Euro (€) 35,000. 


Yamaha Motor Europe announced earlier this month that the fee can also be shared across the season (under the organiser’s financial deal rules), with an initial payment of Euro (€) 6,000, followed by monthly instalments of Euro (€) 5,000 between March and August 2020. Entries will receive a latest-spec Yamaha R3 bike, Pirelli tyres, fuel, helmet, leather suit, gloves, boots and Paddock Blue uniform, additionally benefiting from professional coaching and technical assistance.<


Riders will get the opportunity to run their Yamaha R3 for the first time at an exclusive pre-season test at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli Italy, on 23rd March, before contesting the eight-round campaign, which gets underway at TT Circuit Assen, The Netherlands, on 17-19 April. 


As it’s a part of the WorldSBK European programme, riders can showcase their skills in front of Yamaha’s top outfits including the Pata Yamaha WorldSBK Team, with bLU cRU ambassadors Toprak Razgatlıoğlu and Michael van der Mark for the 2020 season.


The winner of each race will be awarded Eur (€) 500, with the champion winning Eur (€) 10,000, second earning Eur (€) 7,500 and third receiving Eur (€) 5,000. Furthermore, the top three overall are automatically entered into Yamaha Motor Europe’s bLU cRU Masterclass event for the chance to earn a fully supported ride in 2021.
