You can feel the pain in Nyck de Vries’s Instagram post that he wrote today, as he opened up about the manner in which his Formula 1 “dream” was so brutally ended. Red Bull is renowned for being a harsh environment for drivers, although it must also be commended for giving them a shot in the first place. Daniel Ricciardo would never have made it anywhere near F1 without its support, and the eight-time grand prix winner returns this weekend with the aim of taming the recalcitrant AlphaTauri that de Vries was saddled with. How will he fare? It’s going to be fascinating to watch – especially with the new tyre rules that come into play in Hungary this weekend, which mandates drivers to use all three different compounds as they progress through the sessions.
