The big news in September was the announcement of Ruhr-CIX powered by DE-CIX – a new Internet Exchange serving the Ruhr region of Germany. The new Internet Exchange is operated by DE-CIX on behalf of the regional Internet companies DOKOM21, TMR, and GELSEN-NET. We extended our partnership with Seaborn to the benefit of networks in South America, who can now easily access DE-CIX's neutral interconnection ecosystem. Partners are an important part of our ecosystem, and sometimes it is love at first sight – as CEO of Angola Cables, António Nunes puts it. You can read the full interview on our anniversary website. As reported previously, we have seen consistently high averages for data traffic in the past few months in many of our Internet Exchanges worldwide. We have put some stats together for you and you can also read an article about the Internet infrastructure in times of Covid-19 on our website. On the events front, the EPF was held online for the first time, and the Future Internet round table series kicked-off in Berlin. The round table discussions continue all over Germany this autumn – see the dates and cities below. Enjoy the newsletter.
