From cookin’ with Blues legend John Lee Hooker, organ summits with B-3 master Dr. Lonnie Smith, television and radio appearances, Wil Blades is gaining critical acclaim and international recognition. Wil Blades is gaining critical acclaim and international recognition.

Blades, a native Chicagoan, has become the San Francisco Bay Area’s first call organist and is rapidly gaining momentum throughout the country.

He has been named “Rising Star” for organ in the Downbeat critics poll every year since 2006.

Wil has been wowing audiences with groups such as “O.G.D.,” “Amendola Vs. Blades”, “Stanton Moore Trio” and most recently “Billy Martin and Wil Blades Duo.”

In 2007 Blades released his much anticipated debut record, “Sketchy”, on Doodlin’ Records.

In addition to performing with legendary artists such as John Lee Hooker and Dr. Lonnie Smith, Wil and performed and recorded wtih a who’s who of Jazz, Funk and Blues legends including Melvin Sparks, Idris Muhammad, Joe Louis Walker, Don Braden, Donald Harrison, Nicholas Payton, Karl Denson, Will Bernard, Scott Amednola, Charlie Hunter, Stanton Moore, Billy Martin, Ander Osborne, Jason Marsalis, Herlin Riley, Mike Clark, Betty Joplin, Eddie Marshall, Herbie Lewis, and many others.

Kim Dawson’s work is what can only be described as an eclectic mix of R&B, neo-soul, and funk with a love-laced passion for all things jazz. Her musical influences range from Stevie Wonder to Sarah Vaughan to Karen Carpenter, But, there has always been one commonality, one unbreakable thread: soul-driven devotion to singing. She develops sounds that elevate, invigorate, and ultimately transport listeners to her musical world.

She has performed with music legends and Rock and Roll Hall of Famers such as Bernie Worrell, Ivan Neville, and George Porter Jr.

After touring internationally for years with bands like Euforquestra, Pimps of Joytime, and Matador! Soul Sounds, Kim is now focusing on her solo work, and returning to her roots in jazz and R&B. Her single “Try",” released in March 2020 on Color Red, is a perfect introduction to all that is to come from this artist.

Jazziz magazine writes that Nelson Rangell is, “an artist of depth, a master of song, and an improviser non pareil.”

The Times of London notes, “his extraordinary facility on a range of instruments” and Rangell’s “considerable crowd pleasing power.”

Saxophone Journal writes, “he commands the alto saxophone with such authority there can be no denying that Rangell is a true artist,” and Flute Talk Magazine states, “Nelson Rangell creates the impression that anything is possible when he improvises.”

Such praise is a confirmation of what contemporary jazz fans have known since the Denver based saxophonist emerged in the late 80s: that Rangell is one of the most exciting and diverse smooth jazz performers in the entire genre, equally adapt at soprano, alto, and tenor saxophone, as well as being a genuine virtuoso on flute and piccolo.
