Chloe Feoranzo is a clarinetist, saxophonist, sloth enthusiast, & vocalist who has been performing professionally since the age of 15. She now resides in New Orleans, LA as a freelance musician, full-time member of Shake ‘Em Up Jazz Band and has been touring part-time with Postmodern Jukebox and Asleep At The Wheel. LAPOMPE is a Denver-based Hot-Club Jazz group that fuses eclectic American standards with french ballads, burning Django Reinhardt tunes, and soulful originals.
The band has been nominated by multiple publications for best jazz band on the front range and won the 2017 Producers Choice award at the Westword Music Showcase. By combining swinging vocals and high energy instrumentals they are keeping vintage jazz alive for a whole new generation.

JJ’s new project, KALIMARI DESERT strives to see just how far the jazz trio can go. Their instrumentation of vibraphone, bass, and drums provides just enough sonic information to be inviting, but lends itself well to heavy improvisation and experimentation, which all members of the group (JJ Mazza on drums, Lazlo Torok on vibraphone and Hunter Roberts on bass) run with and excel at. For this performance only they are joined by the incredible Shane Endsley!

Ron Ivory’s One on One and The MilesApart Band

One on One is a quartet which showcases Motown, Classic Soul and Old School Rhythm and Blues “Just the way you like it”. This quintessential quartet formed in July 2003 by its leader and one of its lead vocalist Ron Ivory features songs from the 60’s thru the 90’s with a dash of today’s contemporary music. Includes songs by artists such as The Temptations, The Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, The Supremes, The Whispers, The Contours, Al Green, The O’Jays, The Spinners, The Dells, Wilson Pickett and many more. They are joined by the incredible MilesApart rhythm section for this show!

Otis Taylor

Otis Taylor grew up in Denver, but like the old blues song said, he was born in Chicago in 1948. The first instrument Taylor learned to play was the banjo, but he soon rejected the banjo for its association with the racist American South. Taylor would eventually return to the banjo upon discovering its African roots. Like so many musicians in Denver, Taylor drew inspiration from time spent at the Denver Folklore Center founded by Harry Tuft, where he first heard Piedmont, Delta, country, and Chicago blues artists like Son House, Muddy Waters, and Mississippi Fred McDowell. He learned to play guitar and harmonica and while still in his teens he formed a band called the Butterscotch Fire Department and later the Otis Taylor Blues Band.

Young composer and musician Rico Jones comes home to Denver, bringing along four highly acclaimed jazz stars from New York to play at Dazzle for three nights, July 7th (featuring local Denver Greats) 8th and 9th (Featuring the NYC band). With a quintet comprising both well-established and rising stars, Rico welcomes the chance to introduce Denver audiences to current trends in New York jazz while also introducing the NY artists to the burgeoning jazz scene here in Colorado.
Acclaimed Saxophonist Vincent Herring has appeared on recordings and live performances with Freddie Hubbard, Donald Byrd, Dizzy Gillespie, Louis Hayes, Art Blakey and The Jazz Messengers, Horace Silver Quintet, Jack DeJohnette’s Special Edition, Larry Coryell, Steve Turre, The Mingus Big Band (Won a Grammy in 2010), Kenny Barron, Nancy Wilson, Dr. Billy Taylor, Carla Bley, Mike LeDonne, Carl Allen, Ron McClure, and John Hicks among others. His extensive guest soloist appearances include performances with Wynton Marsalis at Lincoln Center and Jon Faddis and The Carnegie Hall Big Band.
