Musical Style: Folk, String Quartet, Singer-Songwriter

Nashville (formerly Denver) based, Americana, rock, folk, singer-songwriter Andy Sydow is a jack-of-all-trades. As an accomplished multi-instrumentalist who's lyrics paint a picture of poetic realism, Sydow tours consistently both solo and with a backing band. He draws comparisons to voices like Paul Simon and Jackson Browne, mixed with a roots rock vibe reminiscent of Tom Petty or Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats. For this show however, Sydow is performing with a string quartet and french horn, providing cinematic interpretations of his original music, plus a couple of favorite covers.

Willie Jones III trio featuring Brad Leali

With an unparalleled style of rhythmic expression, drummer Willie Jones III is one of the world's leading jazz drummers.

From 1998-2005, Jones was a member of Roy Hargrove's Quintet and is featured on Roy Hargrove's CD releases on Verve: Moment To Moment, Hard Groove, Nothing Serious and RH Factor's Distractions.

With a unique style and sound, which echoes the influences of his past, Brad Leali is one of the most notable saxophonists of current times. Leali toured and recorded with numerous jazz greats, including several years with the Harry Connick, Jr. Orchestra and with the Count Basie Orchestra. Leali was a standing member of the Kennedy Center Honors Band and performed for President Obama’s inaugural celebration.

Miguel Espinoza Fusion, the collective beating heart of world-class musicians Miguel Espinoza (guitar), Dianne Betkowski (cello), David Hinojosa (percussion), and Randy Hoepker (bass), invites the listener into a rich and colorful symposium of musical traditions. Firm roots in flamenco, classical, and jazz are woven through with North African rhythms, Celtic whimsy, and Brazilian expressions for a sound that is transformative, vibrant, and deeply emotive.

Kids' Matinee: The Playmakers Family Brunch Presents Snow White & the Dazzle Dwarves, An Interactive Event

In our whimsical version of Snow White, our dwarves are all musicians who live in an old, abandoned jazz nightclub called Dazzle, (sound familiar?). Born and raised in Denver, CO., Matt Skellenger has been composing, performing, recording, and teaching in Colorado for 30 years. Matt Reid is a trumpet player from Washington State, re-located to Colorado in 2014 and joined the Matt Skellenger Group in 2016

Ron was an original member of the Skellenger group from 2006-2014, and he is featured on the group's first 3 albums. During that time, Matt and Ron performed a handful of duo concerts together.

Aaaarrrr you ready for some fun? Then don your favorite pirate outfit and head down to Dazzle for an hour of music and hilarity as we recreate Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island. Our master storyteller will choose various willing audience members to come up on stage and play specific roles in the play. We need everything from a band of pirates, mermaids, and even a talking parrot. No one gets left out of the act because EVERYONE helps from their seats learning the pirate laugh, the pirate eyeball and our extraordinary pianist will teach us all to Talk Like a Pirate.
