On Tuesday, 18 October 2022 at 16:00 Paris time, the Warsaw University of Technology is presenting a talk by one of Poland’s most prominent architectural firms, Kuryłowicz & Associates, as the final volume in the Built with Light segment of the 2022 Daylight Talks. The Built with Light series seeks to explore the role of daylight, not only as a component of a healthy indoor environment, but as a creator of forms, an essential part of space orientation, wayfinding and haptic technology. Ewa Kuryłowicz will address the role of daylight in her projects, notably the Dobra 55 Modern Languages and Applied Linguistics Building, shortlisted for the World Architecture Festival (WAF)’s Best Use of Natural Light Prize. The building also figures on WAF's Completed Buildings (Higher Education and Research) shortlist. Organised by the VELUX Group in collaboration with individual schools of architecture and endorsed by the UIA and the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE), the Talks explore the significance of natural light in architecture and will present prominent architects and educators working consciously and qualitatively with daylight in their projects and educational programmes. Broadcasted live from Kuryłowicz’s studio in Warsaw, Poland and presented by Anna Lorens, an architect and professor of architecture from the Institute of Architectural Design and Theory, a department of the Faculty of Architecture at Poland's Warsaw University of Technology. The Talk will last for 45 minutes and will be followed by an open 30 minutes of Q&A session. |
