Off the Cuff Cabaret with Sonya and Jules

Adelaide Cabaret Festival is back in 2021 from 11 to 26 June and on the opening weekend, you're invited to see your favourite duo Sonya and Jules live on stage for Off the Cuff Cabaret.Kicking off from 3pm on Sunday 13 June in the Quartet Bar at the Adelaide Festival Centre, the show will bring together a variety of cabaret artists to go off the cuff - singing and dancing! Victorian man who tested positive for COVID–19 was on same flight as Adelaide hotel case

South Australia's Chief Public Health Officer Nicola Spurrier says it is most likely a Victorian man, who tested positive to COVID-19 yesterday, caught it while staying in hotel quarantine in Adelaide.
Victorian health authorities announced the positive case on Tuesday.
The man in his 30s had stayed at the Playford medi-hotel before returning home to Melbourne.

Helen Oxenham has been helping women escape domestic violence since 1977
Ninety-year-old women's rights advocate Helen Oxenham has devoted half her life to support women experiencing domestic violence. Helen launched the first women's shelter at Christies Beach in Adelaide's south and told Sonya Feldhoff on Afternoons about the Place of Courage memorial which pays tribute to victims and survivors of domestic violence.

Adelaide City Council left poles apart in battle over Big Santa

Adelaide City Council is attempting to pass on the cost of the giant Father Christmas that loomed over Rundle Mall shoppers for decades to the SA History Trust. The SA History Trust says the Council is responsible for the upkeep of the Santa statue, and the Trust is not a "storeroom for local government."
Councillor Greg Mackie is also the CEO of the SA History Trust, and spoke to Ali Clarke and David Bevan on Breakfast.

Playford hotel COVID transmission sends Adelaide woman back into isolation after two weeks' quarantine

One of the 10 South Australians who has been ordered to quarantine for a second time after staying on the same floor of an Adelaide hotel as two COVID-positive men says she has been vaccinated and took "every precaution" while out in the community. Georgina Adam, 43, returned to Adelaide from Japan on April 19 and quarantined at the Playford medi-hotel until May 4.

93yo patient waits for admission to hospital as ambulances ramp outside

An Adelaide father has told of his anguish after it took two hours for an ambulance to arrive after his son had a seizure yesterday, as South Australia's emergency healthcare system strains under high demand.
ABC Radio Adelaide listener Geoff called to say his son had a three-to-four-minute seizure at school at 9:53am — the same time an ambulance was called — but it did not arrive until 12:06pm.

Aboriginal children entering state care in SA at 'worsening rate', data shows

The proportion of Aboriginal children in state care in South Australia is at its highest level in at least five years and is continuing to grow at an alarming rate, a new report has revealed. The report, by the Guardian for Children and Young People Penny Wright, found one in 11 Aboriginal children were in state care in South Australia as of June 2020.
