| OLYMPIC TAHITI The 'Oosterschelde' has arrived in Papeete, the capital of Tahiti. This island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean is not only the economic, cultural, and political center of French Polynesia, but also the sportiest island for the next few weeks! In fact, the Olympic surfing competition will take place near the Tahitian coastal town Teahupo'o. The choice for this location is not surprising: the International Surfing Federation considers the waves near Tahiti to be 'the best waves in the world!' | THE VERSATILITY OF CAPE VERDE In our previous newsletter, we took a brief look at the versatility of the Cape Verde islands. Take Santo Antão for example, a green and fertile island where we will take a beautiful hike from the rim of a volcanic crater. Or Boa Vista, with its white sand beaches and distinctive 'walking sand dunes' inland. But also São Nicolau, where we will take you to Carbeirinho - a place where the sea has formed spectacularly carved rock formations. We admit it right away: the islands are beautiful and we are happy to show you it all! The sailing days in between the visits to the islands are by no means as 'must'. In fact, with the always favorable trade winds, Cape Verde is also a sailing paradise! And on deck, there is always plenty to see around us: from whales and sea turtles to dolphins, flying fish and birds. Hopefully, we'll even dine with tuna we catch along the way! Have we convinced you? Check out our website for more information about the Island-Hopping in Cape Verde sailing voyages! Island-Hopping in Cape Verde | from € 1745,- |

| MILE MAKERS The 'Morgenster' is sailing to Cape Verde next winter. We call the sailing voyages to and from the Cape Verdean archipelago 'Mile Makers': sailing voyages for more experienced sailors, during which we will cover large distances. For example, in early November will we sail in just over two weeks from the Netherlands to Setúbal in Portugal. From there, we will pick up the favorable trade winds and continue our journey to Tenerife and Sal, Cape Verde. During Mile Maker voyages, you will be absorbed in the relaxed rhythm on board. The meals at fixed times, the good conversations at sunset. The more nautical miles we sail, the more birds, fish and other species at sea you'll be able to recognize. Mile Makers are a perfect adventure for those wanting to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life for an active challenge! Mile Makers Den Helder - Setúbal | 03/11/24 - 18/11/24 Setúbal - Tenerife | 18/11/24 - 25/11/24 Tenerife - Sal | 25/11/24 - 02/12/24 Sal - Horta | 01/03/25 - 15/03/25 Horta - Den Helder | 16/03/25 - 30/03/25 |

| OUR DARWIN LEADERS Since the start of the global voyage in August 2023, tens of talented, young scientists and conservationists have embarked the 'Oosterschelde' for their research projects in every port we have visited so far. You can now see who they are and what they studied. Click here to see the Darwin Leaderboard! |
