It's raining cats and dogs articles! Dog person or cat person? No matter — we've got both brands of four-legged fur baby well covered. Why not go for walkies and discover London's Top Dogs (including Pickles, the World Cup-finding pooch). Or, if you're Team Feline, swot up on London's Coolest Cats, feat. the Cabinet Office's Chief Mouser, and four particularly huge cats who can be found lurking in Trafalgar Square. Memorials dedicated to cats and canines are scattered all over town. We've made an illustrated map of London's cat sculptures. And, in the interest of balance, there's also one of London's dog sculptures (look out for one of the most tear-jerking tombstones you'll ever clap eyes on). Speaking of gravestones, be sure to read about the fascinating pet cemeteries at Hyde Park and in Ilford. Finally, then: two very special station pets. Roy the cross collie was a fundraising dog who worked at Euston station and was so loyal to his job, he refused to retire. Tiddles the cat, meanwhile, spent his entire life in the ladies loos of Paddington station — but only because he was being well fed. Cats, eh? Image: Matt Brown/Londonist |
