Society is based on competition, ambition and the drive to be somebody, to achieve something, to become something – endlessly from childhood till you die. In every field – religious, economic, art, business – everywhere this is the thing that drives us. Can one see that drive, which has been built up for centuries upon centuries in man, from childhood till we die, can one see it and cut it immediately? Out of it. Is it possible? It is only possible when you see the fact of it, the poisonous nature of it. The very seeing of it creates something new, which is the positive state of mind that is so full that this has no place in it.
