J. Krishnamurti Online

To inquire, to pay total attention, there must be the emptiness of the known, freedom from the known. That freedom from the known is instantaneous. When you condemn, when you compare or justify, that comparison, condemnation or justification is the reaction of the known. That state of attention is partial and therefore it is not attention at all. There can be attention only in a state of negation; only the negative mind can attend.
