J. Krishnamurti Online

A man who really understands, who is really serious and is learning, must go beyond words. Words are generally a hindrance because we take the symbol for the actual, the word for the thing. The thing is not the word: the word ‘tree’ is not the actual tree. But the word ‘tree’ becomes all-important when dealing with words and ideations. When we are dealing with facts, the tree, apart from the word, has an immense significance.
