J. Krishnamurti Online

There must be conflict in the totality of consciousness as long as there is a thinker and thought, as long as there is an experiencer who is experiencing, which means a division, a contradiction. Therefore, where there is contradiction there must be conflict. So the totality of consciousness is, in a sense, conflict, because in it there is the observer and the observed.
