SCRIPTURE OF THE DAY Genesis 22:11-13
"And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son."
QUOTE OF THE DAY Howard W. Hunter | "We have, then, examples from the scriptures of how we should consider and evaluate the commandments of the Lord. If we choose to react like Joshua, and Abraham, and Rebekah, and Rachel [and Leah], our response will be, simply, to go and do the thing that the Lord has commanded” (Teachings of Presidents of the Church: Howard W. Hunter, p. 249).

1844 - The Nauvoo City Council meets from “10 a. m., to 1:20 p. m., and from 2:20 p. m. to 6:30 p. m. investigating the merits of the Nauvoo Expositor.” An ordinance was passed by the city council against libels, an act was passed calling the Expositor a public nuisance, and the mayor was ordered to immediately have the nuisance removed. The mayor, Joseph Smith, then orders the marshal, John P. Green, to destroy the press. Marshall Greene accompanied by several hundred men, burned the newspaper and destroyed the press in the middle of Mulholland Street in front of the Nauvoo Expositor building. Click Here!
