QUOTE OF THE DAY Thomas S. Monson | |
“There is no need for you or for me, in this enlightened age when the fulness of the gospel has been restored, to sail uncharted seas or to travel unmarked roads in search of truth. A loving Heavenly Father has plotted our course and provided an unfailing guide—even obedience. A knowledge of truth and the answers to our greatest questions come to us as we are obedient to the commandments of God” (“Obedience Brings Blessings,” April 2013 General Conference). 1775 - Battle of Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts places the American Colonies on the path that leads to the Revolutionary War for American Independence. During the previous night, Paul Revere made his famous ride to warn the colonists the Red Coats were coming. The first shots were fired on the Lexington Village Green just after dawn and became known as the “shot heard round the world.” An independent American nation provided a fertile ground for restoration of the gospel and the birth of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1830.
