Much has been talked about a three tier system of restrictions, depending on the level of outbreaks in particular towns and cities. That could mean those in Tier Three being forced to shut some establishments which only opened in July, with those which have been the breeding ground for Covid-19 most likely to be targeted. While this may seem sensible - after all why hit the entire country with stringent rules if only parts really need it - there may well be a price to pay. In Lockdown Mark One, we were all in it together. All of us faced the same restrictions and we all understood why. It led to an amazing show of strength and community spirit as people did their best to support vulnerable folk around them. This time round, the feeling is altogether different. The North is singled out and it is our economy and our residents who are going to be hardest hit. Let’s hope the Chancellor’s planned help can keep us from heading towards a greater North/South divide. As ever, feel free to email me your views at [email protected].
