It may have been an unusually quiet one, but I hope you were all able to enjoy a merry Christmas this year.

Many of us will have been trying to forget the pandemic and the changes that has brought to our lives and simply enjoyed being with our closest family for a peaceful few days.
We will have learned how to make the most of that leftover turkey - knowledge which will sustain us in years to come - and may well have played far too much Scrabble or Monopoly (I wish I'd kept that Ker Plunk game.)
It has been a difficult year for all of us, there is little doubt of that. But as we look forward to 2021, perhaps we can see some reasons for optimism.
There are several vaccines available to the world and it seems that trials are underway to offer treatments to those with the worst forms of Covid-19.
We have got to know our neighbours better and we may even have come to be thankful for the small things in life, like a hug from a friend.
My hope for 2021 is that we remember these dark times and make the most of the learnings from it when the nightmare of 2020 is behind us.

Until next time, take care
Gillian.
