Should New York's schools get behind 'the science of reading'?

New York Governor Kathy Hochul has announced that she will introduce legislation to require schools to use "the science of reading" curriculum. She announced that $10 million will go toward training 20,000 teachers on it. The Science of Reading is a curriculum that uses phonics, vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension to teach kids how to read.
