NY change to key Medicaid program could leave disabled without care

Julie Farrar, a longtime activist for disability rights, says that if New York State doesn't delay an April 1, 2025 deadline for registration with a new fiscal provider for CDPAP, a key Medicaid program, "New Yorkers will die."

Some 280,000 New Yorkers use the Consumer Directed Personal Assistance Program. A fraction have been able to sign up with the state's chosen provider.
