A 1952 display ad in the Journal Star invited visitors to the Meyers Prehistoric Mounds, "located on Germantown Hill Rte. 116 East, 21/2 Mi. from the McCluggage Bridge." The ad touted beautiful river and valley scenery, a miniature railroad and refreshments.
