Enslaved burial ground a hidden history in NY suburb

Evidence indicates that an enslaved African burial ground once sat on what is now the Barney Park neighborhood in Irvington. One entrance to Barney Park is on S. Cottenet Street, lat left, photographed Feb. 21, 2023. The village is planning on building a memorial to those buried under what is now the residential neighborhood.
