Crazy Rich Asians star Ken Jeong and the film’s director, Jon M. Chu, are reteaming on a new project for Netflix, reports Variety. The standup comedy special, tentatively titled Ken Jeong: First Date, will feature Jeong reflecting on his journey from doctor to comedy star, as well as his wife’s battle with breast cancer, which led to his starring in The Hangover. Special is slated to premiere in 2019. Bunim/Murray Productions (The Real World, Born This Way) have partnered with NFL star Russell Wilson and his West2East Empire to develop and produce unscripted programming for various platforms. They’ll adapt France’s L’adventure Robinson, which features two celebrities stranded on a desert island for five days. Shudder, AMC Networks’ streaming service for thriller, suspense and horror, acquired the rights to Jessica Forever, the closing night film of the Toronto International Film Festival’s 2018 Platform program from Paris-based MK2 Films. Directors Caroline Poggi and Jonathan Vinel’s debut feature, focused on a dystopian world where violent misfits reign supreme, is slated to premiere in 2019. DIGITAL DOINGS Amazon is on the cusp of joining Apple as the only other U.S. company with a market capitalization of $1 trillion, now that an analyst boosted his price target for the tech company. In 2018 to date, shares in Amazon have gained 67%, and for the past year have risen 103%. Morgan Stanley analyst Brian Nowak lifted his price target to $2500 a share up from $1800. Facebook is launching its video streaming service Facebook Watch internationally, effective immediately.
