CBS is not ordering a third season of drama Instinct. What will now be the series finale airs Sunday, August 25. “Is it too soon to ask for a reboot?” posted series creator/EP Michael Rauch.

Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Walking Dead and Lone Star Law were all hit with fines by the FCC’s Enforcement Bureau for “misusing” the Wireless Emergency Alert tones. “We remain concerned about the misuse of the EAS codes and EAS and WEA Attention Signals, or simulations thereof, to capture audience attention during advertisements; dramatic, entertainment, and educational programs, and at any other time that there is no genuine alert, authorized test, or authorized PSA about the EAS or WEA that is accompanied by an appropriate disclaimer,” said the FCC. Kimmel was fined $395,000, TWD $104,000 and Law $68,000.

Vice News Tonight, canceled by HBO in June, has found a new home on Viceland. “VNT is going to a wider audience as we bring it home to our television network and make it the centerpiece of a primetime block built off of the VICE news voice and sensibility,” said Vice Media news and entertainment head Jesse Angelo. “This bold move shows how much our company believes in this team and now it will have all the support and attention it deserves throughout the VICE ecosystem and beyond.”

YouTube is altering its copyright enforcement policies around music used in videos in an effort to improve fairness in the creator ecosystem. “One concerning trend we’ve seen is aggressive manual claiming of very short music clips used in monetized videos. These claims can feel particularly unfair, as they transfer all revenue from the creator to the claimant, regardless of the amount of music claimed,” said YouTube in a blog post. Going forward, YouTube policies will forbid copyright owners from using its Manual Claiming tool to monetize creator videos with very short or unintentional uses of music. The change only impacts claims made with the Manual Claiming tool, where the rightsholder is actively reviewing the video.

Season eight of USA Network’s Chrisley Knows Best is on track, despite stars Todd and Julie Chrisley being indicted on charges including bank fraud and tax evasion. “We are getting back to work after this distraction and our show hasn’t been canceled,” said Todd Chrisley, explaining in an Instagram post that a former employee out for revenge used falsified documents to convince the U.S. Attorney’s office to bring charges.

Another promotion by Amazon, for its Emmy-nominated, 1950s-set The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, may have worked too well. Amazon rolled back prices to 1959 levels in LA on items including blowouts and pastrami sandwiches, but the 30 cents-a-gallon gas offer forced traffic congestion so bad police had to shut it down. The series is up for 20 Emmy Awards this season.
