DIGITAL DATA After reviewing how Facebook was used by Russian trolls during the 2016 election - and as he prepared to testify at a Senate hearing tomorrow - Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced on Friday that moving forward, any advertiser that wants to run political or issue ads will have to be verified by confirming their identity and location, and show users who paid for them. Verification will also be required for pages with large followings, to “make it much harder for people to run pages using fake accounts, or to grow virally and spread misinformation or divisive content,” said Zuckerberg. YouTube TV, launched a year ago, is on the hunt for channels like Cheddar and Tastemade from digital-first media companies, reports Digiday. RATINGS The first episode of MTV’s Jersey Shore Family Vacation scored a 2.88 Live+SD rating among P18-34, with the second ep growing 5% to a 3.03 in the demo, averaging a 2.96 to surpass the final season’s average 2.82 in 2012. It also more than doubled the rating of the original Jersey Shore debut in 2009 and was the highest-rated cable reality show in the demo in 6 years. The season finale of NBC’s Will & Grace averaged a .9 rating among A18-49 on Thursday and 3.6 million total viewers, even with its season low in the demo and a slight dip from the prior week’s 3.7 million viewers.
