IN THE NEWS NBC ordered a sixth season of Hollywood Game Night. The summer series averaged a 1.1 rating among A18-49 and 4.7 million viewers in Live+7 last time around. Women in Entertainment is teaming with the Television Academy Foundation for the first Women in Television Summit, slated for May 21. “This is a watershed moment in time. We are thrilled to bring our content to life with a program dedicated to television,” said Gretchen McCourt, co-founder of Women in Entertainment. “This partnership with the Television Academy Foundation creates a new opportunity to share tools and strategies for success.” Event takes place at the Academy’s Saban Media Center in North Hollywood. Actress Cynthia Nixon announced via Twitter that she’s running for governor of New York. “Something has to change,” Nixon says in a video posted on Twitter. “We want our government to work again….We are sick of politicians who care more about headlines and power than they do about us.” The Sex and the City alum will go up against Governor Andrew Cuomo in the Democratic primary in September. Um, what? “As producers, we’re always looking to elevate our creative and invent new ways of telling familiar stories,” Craig Piligian, CEO of Pilgrim Media Group, and exec producer of the series, tells Cynopsis. “With Love at First Flight, we crossed a dating show with a travel show, and brought a new dynamic to the table in the process.
