Join Nate HERE for all the details I saw an interesting point on Twitter as I scanned for the market headlines this morning. They were pointing out that the “noise” in the market is arguably at an all-time high. Between tariffs, the crisis in Iran and Israel, the crisis in Ukraine, constant Fed updates, inflation, fears of a recession, and so much more, the market has a ton that it could panic about. But right now, it’s simply not. As the markets open today, it looks like they’ll be pretty flat: but that’s a far cry from the big selloff many were projecting after President Trump authorized a bombing run on key Iranian nuclear sites over the weekend. The VIX sits right at 20, in the range its remained since early May. And the fear/greed index is stuck in neutral: There’s a lot of noise out there in the world. There are people projecting a World War III scenario stemming from the conflict between Iran, Israel, and now, the U.S. But clearly, the markets don’t see any reason to believe that’s coming. Even with Iran threatening to close the Strait of Hormuz, oil prices have hardly budged since the start of this conflict. If there was belief that we were heading towards a protracted conflict threatening global oil supply, that would obviously be a different story. So while there’s a lot to noise out there, you can let the market cut through the noise and show you the truth. Nobody has a crystal ball. But the markets operate like a massive betting market for the future, and when people’s money is on the line, they’re going to proceed with caution.
