Dear Voornaam,

Good morning.

Happy Friday from Scotsman HQ. We are less than a week out from the General Election with parties looking ahead to the final weekend of campaigning. The main political news this morning, however, is coming from the US where the first presidential TV debate has taken place, and Joe Biden's faltering performance has sparked fresh fears amid Democrats.

Arts Correspondent Brian Ferguson reports today on fresh concerns around funding of Scotland's culture sector, speaking to Edinburgh International Festival chief executive Francesca Hegyi who warns about a 'house of cards' collapse. She wants a crisis summit with the Scottish Government

Aidan Smith meanwhile reviews Steven Moffat's new ITV comedy drama Douglas is Cancelled which kicked off last night. He finds Karen Gillan steals the show

Have a great day

Alan
