10 Inspiring Women Farmers You Should Know | In anticipation of International Women's Day on March 8, what better time to celebrate the millions of women who are so vital to our food system? Globally, women make up half of the agricultural workforce, and more than 700,000 women work in the fields in the United States. According to the latest Ag Census, women are 30 percent of farm operators, making them one of the fastest growing groups of farmers.

Spring Crop Update
| Recent rains are much needed during an otherwise dry and warm winter, but freezes and frosts have delayed some eagerly anticipated spring crops like asparagus. Nut and stone fruit farmers are watching their trees closely as cold snaps imperil this delicate bloom time in the orchards.

| La Cocina, a nonprofit food business incubator for women entrepreneurs, is showcasing Teranga at their Ferry Plaza Farmers Market booth on Saturdays. Nafy Flatley creates refreshing and healthy drinks handcrafted in small batches using baobab, a fruit native to Africa. Find Teranga's booth in the south driveway throughout March.

| The 75 Howard Street garage is now permanently closed. Instead, you can park at One Market Plaza Garage at 55 Spear Street. Alternatively, on Saturdays we recommend Golden Gateway Garage at 250 Clay Street, which is $3 for the whole day with validation at the CUESA Info Booth.
