WeWork is now the world’s 6th most valuable unicorn. Six-year-old shared office space startup WeWork announced $430M in new funding this morning, led by Chinese investors, at a valuation of $16B.The new round, which brings the company’s total funding to $1.4B, will be used to expand into Asia, and boosts WeWork to sixth on the Unicorn list. It’s a day of new funds: Lightspeed Venture Partners, the early-stage venture firm based in Menlo Park, has raised two new funds totaling $1.2B, according to new SEC filings. The 16-year-old firm has closed an 11th fund of $715M (a premium over its $650M tenth fund) as well as a $500M “Select” fund for later-stage investments. Los Angeles-based Mucker Capital, meanwhile, announced a third fund of $45M, focused on local software and service startups, as well as a new accelerator called Muckerlabs. Cisco announced yesterday that it’s acquired Synata, a search startup that allows users to search across on-premise or cloud repositories simultaneously, for an undisclosed amount under $100M. This is the third acquisition that Cisco has made in March alone, following its purchase of Leaba Semiconductor for $320M and CliQr Technologies for $260M earlier this month.
