| | Attention all scientific innovators, there is only one week left to join the Panacea Stars programme, offering an 8-week training programme designed to bring your business idea to life. Led by industry and academic leaders, this programme aims to de-risk all aspects of your entrepreneurial journey while providing a chance to secure a £100k non-dilutive prize. Deadline: 25 February | |
| | | | Now that the UK’s association to Horizon Europe has been confirmed, UK researchers can again apply for funding for the remainder of the programme. The total budget for Horizon Europe is around £80bn, and the UK has had a great track record in achieving funding from the programme, with an average grant worth £450,000 to a UK business or researcher. Funding is available for research in any field, mobility, infrastructure and global challenges in various areas including health. You can find useful information, including practical support on how to apply on Innovate UK’s website. UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) hosts regular events that help guide researchers through the opportunities on offer and the application process. | |

Registration is now open for our Early Diagnosis Conference |
| Are you looking for an opportunity to discuss how to drive evidence into practice in the early diagnosis sphere? Our early diagnosis conference takes place on 4-5 June in Birmingham. It brings together experts in epidemiology, implementation, and behavioural research to showcase the latest early diagnosis evidence around the theme 'Driving Evidence into Practice'. This event complements the annual early detection of cancer conference, hosted by us, the Canary Center at Stanford University and OHSU Knight Cancer Institute, featuring discovery and translational research in cancer early detection. |

| | If you're an early career researcher working in primary cancer prevention, or keen to find out how your research could be applied to cancer prevention, this in-person event might be a good opportunity for you. Learn from the leaders in the field including Sarah Blagden, Ruth Travis (both from the University of Oxford), Walid Khaled (University of Cambridge), and Helen Coleman (Queen's University Belfast). Join us to meet like-minded researchers and engage in Q&A panels, group discussions and networking. The event takes place on 18 March at the Francis Crick Institute. | |
| | | | Interested in understanding the role of the immune system in the initiation, progression and control of cancer? Join us on 7 May at the Francis Crick Institute in London to share ideas and approaches amongst a network of cancer-focused immunologists. The event is for early career researchers in the discovery or translational science space to establish and strengthen their networks, showcase their work and build connections with other Cancer Research UK funded researchers. Students and postdocs should submit their abstracts by 4 March to be considered for a poster or lightning talk. | |
