Good evening,

Good evening,

Crescent Capital Partners is calling time on its investment in Emapta, hiring bankers to help it find a buyer for its stake.

Street Talk understands Michael Alscher’s $4 billion private equity shop has tapped Greenhill to shop the outsourcing and offshore talent solutions business it bought into four years ago.

Emapta is based in Manila but operates in over 30 countries with blue-chip Australian clients like realestate .com.au, Cotton On Group and Secure Parking. It offers services like finance and accounting, virtual assistants, customer support, IT infrastructure, sourcing talent from South-East Asia, Latin America and Southern Europe.

South Australian entrepreneur Tim Vorbach founded the business 15 years ago as a way for small and medium companies to grow their business with a cost-effective offshore workforce. Crescent bought in alongside Vorbach in 2021, helping the business grow to around 10,000 support desks, beef up its offering and hone its focus on the United States – now its largest market, bigger than Australia and Europe.

Sources said Greenhill, which nabbed the gig in recent weeks, has hit the ground running, marketing the business to private equity and strategic types with annual earnings that top $US20 million ($32 million). With the business operating primarily in Manilla and Singapore, it’s expected to run a global sale process.

Boston-based buyout and growth equity firm PSG Equity is understood to be in advanced discussions to acquire Uptick, a software provider to the building compliance industry, focused on fire safety and heating, ventilation and air-conditioning (HVAC).

Uptick’s software has been used to maintain more than 1.2 million buildings by more than 600 fire and security customers.

A broad rally in the Australian sharemarket gained momentum on Tuesday, tracking a rebound on Wall Street before US President Donald Trump’s broad sweep of reciprocal tariffs take effect.
