| Helping homeless veterans re-enter the workforce The Department announced the award of more than $58 million in grants to support the efforts of organizations that help homeless veterans by enabling them to overcome barriers to re-entering the workforce and finding meaningful employment. |
| Fruits of labor, paid in full The Wage and Hour Division conducted investigations and identified violations by 44 employers and recovered $505,540 in back wages for 161 Black farmworkers in the Mississippi Delta. Employers also paid an additional $341,838 in civil money penalties. |
| Grant funding supports clean-up, recovery, humanitarian assistance An initial award of $4,549,554 will support Guam in providing people with temporary employment removing debris and delivering humanitarian assistance to those affected by Typhoon Mawar. |
| Dollar Tree in Rhode Island cited for repeated violations Shortly after two other Dollar Tree stores in Rhode Island were cited for safety violations, OSHA inspectors found unsafe conditions at a store in Coventry. The retailer faces $294,668 in proposed penalties for repeated violations. |
| $1.8M for New Jersey supermarket workers Three northern New Jersey supermarkets have paid more than $1.8 million in back wages and damages after our investigators found the employers deliberately failed to pay required overtime rates to 226 employees. |
| Grants Available The Departments grants connect, protect, train, support, and empower workers and job seekers, at home and abroad. This week, we awarded additional grants including: $11.6 million to four states to improve delivery of workforce services $49.4 million to provide training, employment and workforce re-entry support in 15 states |
