With the arrival of a COVID-19 vaccine still months away, our communities continue to search for a way to get back to a semblance of normalcy in a safe and responsible manner. HRP’s July 17th webinar introduced several technologies that can lower the risk of virus transmission, and bridge the gap until the arrival of an effective vaccine and/or herd immunity is realized. This webinar detailed how rapid test kits, air filtration, surface protectants, ultraviolet light, and thermal imaging technologies will lead the way in our endeavor to get back to our daily routine. Newly Released DHEC Death Count Data Shows...

COLUMBIA, S.C. (July 16, 2020) — The South Carolina Institute of Medicine and Public Health (IMPH) and the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (DHEC) released a data brief examining the disproportionate impact of COVID-19 on Black communities by region throughout South Carolina.

Pandemic reveals true value in technical education

Years from now, histories will be published about the worldwide impact of COVID-19 in 2020. While we do not yet know what those pages will hold, I want to get on the record about how the leaders of South Carolina technical colleges are responding to the workforce challenges created by the pandemic.

Carolina Children's Home

The Carolina Children’s Home (CCH) Foundation is awarding $207,000 in grants to non-profits and scholarships to deserving students in the Midlands area. This is the third year that CCH has awarded grants and scholarships since transitioning to a public benefit non-profit in 2017.
