Richland Library Provides Safe Space for Teen Discussion on Racism

Register now for the virtual Let's Talk Race: Teen Book Group from 3 - 4:30 p.m., Saturday, March 6 and receive a free hardcover copy of "Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You" by Dr. Ibram X. Kendi and Jason Reynolds through the pick-up window or curbside service at any library location.

South Carolina-based IMCS Awarded Major NIH Research Grant

Integrated Micro-Chromatography Systems, Inc. (IMCS), known for their expertise in developing recombinant proteins and enzymes, has been awarded a $900,000 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Fast-Track grant from the National Institutes of Health (Developing Chemoenzymatic Strategies, Enzymes, and Kits for Accessible and Affordable Gangliosides).

Teen Dating Violence Awareness

Yearly Visions of Women, a nonprofit organization in Richland County, locally host their annual teen talk to discuss healthy and unhealthy relationships. On Saturday, February 6th, 2021 from 1 PM to 2:30 PM the organization will host a free virtual parent and teen talk event.

Columbia College Student Receives CIC/UPS Scholarship

Columbia, SC – (January 27, 2021) – Columbia College student Andrea Choice, a Biochemistry major from Moncks Corner, SC., has been selected to receive a Council for Independent College (CIC)/UPS Scholarship provided by South Carolina Independent Colleges and Universities, Inc. and its national partner, the CIC in Washington, D.C.

Leadership expert 2nd guest on Business Forum

The 21st Century Business Forum continues this month with influential leadership expert John Maxwell. The second episode, hosted by author Jon Gordon, will broadcast at noon Feb. 10 from the Columbia Regional Business Report and partner Nephron Pharmaceuticals. Registration is free.
