News, products, marketing and merchandising tips for the front end of community pharmacies
* Gabe's Tips: * | Help with Social Distancing
Take down an aisle of fixtures! Merchandisers, you know this can be done! Be that store who makes every attempt to offer that precious 6 ft of personal space. Remove spinners and any displays that are crowding isles. Doing this will turn an aisle space of 4 ft to 10 ½ ft! If customers are coming into the store and waiting for their scripts to be filled, space all chairs 6 to 7 ft apart. Send me the before and after photo!
| | Can't Touch This
Merchandisers! Time to shine! If it can be touched disinfect it. If it can be polished make it shine! Make entrances, and of course, door handles a priority. If you have time, power wash the sidewalk. A clean looking store is paramount!
| | Banner Time!
Let people know you are open, you deliver, etc. Tie a banner on your vehicle! I'm no lawyer, but I do not think the zoning board is going to be upset that you have put additional signage on and around your store. Speaking of vehicles, insist that parking spots closest to your store are saved for customers not for staff.
| | Show Off
This just in: The team of Jack Dunn of Jasper Drug in Jasper Georgia is creating a video to place on their store website and Facebook page showing the staff scrubbing doors and countertops. Everything you do to assure people that you are making your store accessible must go on social media. Start with your website, then Facebook (personal and store pages), Instagram and Twitter. I know it can seem time consuming, but it also is very important. In most cases any staff member can do this from their home. It's also a great project for your interns!
| | On the Lighter Side
There is a twitter campaign to encourage business and home owners to rehang their Holiday Lights back up. "What if we all put our Christmas lights back up? Then we could get in the car and drive around and look at them. That seems like a fair social distancing activity." @anegrindle
