Hi John, Telstra has lost its Federal Court appeal against a ruling by the competition regulator, the ACCC, that it drop its fixed line access prices by 9.4%.
The ACCC has also rejected proposals by NBN Co to vary the Special Access Undertaking (SAU) which governs the prices and other terms on which it supplies wholesale broadband services to Internet service providers. Software industry advocacy group, the BSA|The Software Alliance, reached a record settlement of $200,000 with a Sydney-based engineering firm in 2016 which saw a record total amount of $589,000 in damages obtained in the year for the use of unlicensed software in Australia. Shopping centre operator Scentre Group has moved to Windows 10, which it says will provided better access for its employees due to the mobility component of the operating system. The CSIRO has launched a digital trial of a platform to help patients recover from total knee replacements. And of course, there's plenty more so for all the news visit www.itwire.com.
