Plaza Tower push: The derelict Plaza Tower skyscraper has been become a hazard to the streets below it, and a couple of New Orleans City Council members are pressing Mayor LaToya Cantrell for a better plan to deal with it, business writer Tony McAuley reports. The building’s owner is trying to sell the building and fears council action could slow the process.
Metairie carjacking: A Metairie family was lucky to come out of an attempted carjacking without being hurt. One family member described the terrifying encounter to our Michelle Hunter.
‘Talking Trash’: As lawsuits go, this one has some star power – a celebrity businessman vs. a well-known TV anchor. IV Waste owner Sidney Torres filed suit against WVUE-TV anchor-investigative reporter Lee Zurik Tuesday, accusing Zurik of a “smear campaign” through Zurik’s “Talking Trash” series.
