This year's MotoGP championship is proving to be one of the most dramatic and unpredictable in recent memory.

We've had major crashes, last corner overtakes for the win, and drivers flinging themselves off their bikes at break-neck speeds to avoid catastrophe.

That's exactly what happened to Maverick Viñales, who at the end of the Red Bull Ring's pit straight at 218hm/h, found himself with no brakes and had to jump off his bike to avoid ploughing into the barrier.

He slid across the track for 6 seconds, which included two impacts pulling a G-force of over 20-times the force of gravity. It's just a taste of the dangers MotoGP drivers - possibly the most fearless drivers in motorsport - face every race.

This season sees absent champions, new winners emerging, and new circuit to explore. As fans are set to return to the track next week, we look at why this year is shaping up to be the one to convert new fans to the sport.

We're also getting you up to speed for next year's Dutch Grand Prix, plus hear from a 14-year-old Japanese karter who moved halfway across the world, alone, to make it in motorsport.

Marc Marquez's absence from the first five races of the season is akin to Lewis Hamilton missing one-third of the Formula 1 season. It's huge.

His injury in the first race has provided an opportunity for drivers new and returning to make a name for themselves, and could see a new name on the championship by the end of the season.

Our latest blog delves into five reasons why you should be tuning in this year if you haven't already.
