Good morning, and welcome to the Saints Insider newsletter for Wednesday, April 19. The NFL Draft is less than two weeks away, and the Saints brain trust is deep in preparation for the league's annual player lottery. Our Saints coverage team has been equally busy. On Tuesday, beat reporter Luke Johnson analyzed the running back position in the second installment of our daily positional draft series. The Saints haven't drafted a back in the first five rounds since taking Alvin Kamara in Round 3 in 2017. But the drought might end this year, Johnson surmises. Previously, we took a look at the quarterback position and analyzed the Saints' chances of targeting a young signal caller in the upcoming draft. That's all for today. We'll have more coverage in the days ahead as we get closer to the April 27-29 NFL Draft. Until next time, Jeff Duncan |
