Good evening everyone,

There is no doubt that we are in for some tough times ahead as we come out the other side of the Covid-19 crisis.

Our entire economy has been brought to a shattering halt and it will take time to recover.

There are some people at the older end of the scale who will even be cautious about going out to places where they are likely to be in crowds - and given that a big part of Lancashire's tourism economy is almost entirely based on having a great time along with lots of other people, that can’t help but be a worry.

Rest assured we will be putting the Government under pressure to ensure the North of England and in particular cities like ours, be at the front of the queue for any help it is offering.

Let’s face it, the North has suffered under-investment for many years - that’s why many people voted for Boris Johnson’s Conservative party - because it vowed to change that.

So, sooner than expected, Mr Johnson will have the chance to prove he meant what he said. And we can all start to get back on our feet again.

Until next time, stay safe
